Etna: I started tinkering with my very first Yamaha Pacifica as a teenager, picking up all sorts of tips and tricks in the late 90s. Eventually, I started gigging regularly in 2009 and realized that many of my friends could use occasional help with their instruments. Affordability has always been a huge factor for me as many of us play in busy cities and operate on thin margins. With that in mind, I wanted to delve into the meat and potatoes of luthiery by getting my hands on as many instruments as I could, and working to get them “better than new.” In 2022, we realized that many of our instruments were of good quality – better than “box store” for sure – and could be passed on to other musicians for affordable prices. By January of 2024 my partner and I decided to open our services to the general public, and since then, we’ve helped dozens of musicians get the most out of their existing instruments.
